CARE Team, Counseling, Crisis Hotline

  • CARE Team – CalArts Response and Evaluation, looks into student issues when someone’s concerned about a student (sim. To BIT Behavior Intervention Team) *CARE Form submitted online 
  • Counseling – therapists can make referrals
    • 12 free sessions included with tuition
    • Walk-in hours
  • Crisis hotline (blue card)
  • Yoga on Sundays taught by certified student
  • Accomodations – electronic version ready by Fall 2020
  • Health & Happiness Weeks – Student Activities
  • Mindfulness workshops (StudentXP x CLW)

Job Advising, Work/Life Balance

  • One-on-one advising, open to setting up a four year plan, budgets, job search etc.
  • Mental health/work/life balance and life skills (self management, time management, etc.) workshops (Winter Session course!)
  • Service Learning opportunities – day of painting mural at shelter, etc.
  • Independent studies with non profits!

  • Mom’s Cafe recreation space – “living room of campus”, open to non-dorm residents
  • RA training – mandated reporters are trained to handle mental health crisis
